About Us

The Mental Health Association of Alameda County (MHAAC) serves people with mental illness and their families throughout Alameda County, California. The MHAAC is a non-profit agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. eighteen individuals currently serve on the MHAAC Board.

Funding

MHAAC's current fiscal year budget is $1,300,000; of this, 90% comes from contracts with Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services and San Mateo County Mental Health Services and the remainder from special events revenue and individual contributions.

MHAAC is an independent local affiliate of the Mental Health Association in California, based in Sacramento, and the National Association for Mental Illness, with offices in Alexandria, Virginia.
